Summary:

Massachusetts-based LifeFocus Apps today is proud to announce LifeFocus 1.2, an update to their popular tasks and goals utility for iPhone and iPod touch. Designed specifically to take advantage of the iPhone's unique capabilities, LifeFocus gets the information users need quickly so they can focus on getting things done. Whether users desire a basic task list or prescribe to the Getting Things Done methodology, LifeFocus can be personalized to meet any need.

Version 1.2 submitted to Apple

Version 1.2 has been submitted to Apple which includes repeating tasks, task quick add and a number of additional enhancements.  We've also included a few bug fixes and stability enhancements.

LifeFocus 1.1.1 Now Available

LifeFocus 1.1.1 is now available in the AppStore.  This release includes a number of minor enhancements and bug fixes.  Version 1.1.2 is ready for submission to Apple.  The next release will include some additional enhancements as well as bug fixes (including a fix for the sync issue causing excessive API usage).  Repeating task functionality is half way done and should hopefully be ready for the next release.

LifeFocus Lite Now Available

We have created a Lite version of LifeFocus to give everyone a chance to see what it is all about.  LifeFocus Lite has the same functionality as the full version with 2 exceptions.  Synchronization is not included and there is a limit of 10 goals/tasks/subtasks combined.  LifeFocus Lite is available on the App Store here

Version 1.1 Submitted to Apple

Thank you to everyone that submitted support requests. Version 1.1 should dramatically improve stability of LifeFocus as well as introduce our first major new feature . . . Subtasks. We are hopeful that this new version will be available within the next 2 weeks

Goals Only One Way Sync

I have had a number of inquiries asking if there is an issue with goal synchronization because it only syncs one way, from LifeFocus to Toodledo. Due to the expanded functionality that LifeFocus offers for goals, it is not possible to reliably sync goals at this time. The issue revolves around the fact that Toodledo does not provide the last change date for each goal(it does provide this for tasks). Without this change date, there is a significant risk that goals would be overidden inappropriately.

Version 1.0.1 Submitted to Apple

The first maintenance release, version 1.0.1 has been submitted to Apple for approval. This release includes some minor bug fixes as well as data detection functionality. Data detection allows the iPhone to recognize phone numbers, email addresses and website addresses in the various note fields in LifeFocus. The iPhone then converts them into links that will launch the appropriate application. We are now working on adding subtask functionality.

1.0 Is Just The Start

Some additional thoughts while we continue to wait for LifeFocus to be approved. Deciding when to launch a new application is difficult. With each new piece of functionality built, I found myself thinking about a myriad of additional use cases and functionality. The challenge is finding the right balance of features without making the application overly complex.

Some Initial Thoughts

As we wait for LifeFocus to be approved, I thought I would post some thoughts about how we got our start.
